With the last stretch of 2017 upon us, it may be a time of change for you over the next few months. Maybe it’s finishing up at your current church and preparing to move. Maybe it’s seeing a family member about to head off to university, or simply preparing for the new church format over the Christmas season (eek!).

Some of these changes can be quite challenging and stressful, bringing with them a feeling of uncertainty about what’s coming up next. If this is where you’re at, I wanted to share with you a little encouragement I found in the Psalms today.

The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all He does
The Lord upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.
The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food at the proper time.
You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.
Psalm 145:13b-16

I see that God is completely consistent and acts according to who He is in the face of a world that is imperfect, changing, and in need of His grace. I’m encouraged that even when I have to scrap another well thought-out plan, that He is always there with me, wanting my best as one of His people, and He has a track record of caring for the needy and low.

I’ve included a video of some beautiful music from the hymn Closer my God to Thee. I hope it encourages you that no matter what changes this season may bring, or how you may feel about them, God is before, behind, and beside you, and His gracious love for you will not stop.

Take care,
Matt
