Under the Sea

“How many are your works, Lord! In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures. There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number—living things both large and small. There the ships go to and fro, and Leviathan, which you formed to frolic there.” - Psalm 104:24-26

Whenever we have the opportunity, our favourite place to go is the ocean. The beauty of Australia’s diversity is there’s a beach for everything you’d like to enjoy by the sea! While I love dipping my feet in Melbourne’s waters or watching the waves crash on the beach, seeing a sunset where the ocean meets the horizon is
a truly beautiful thing.

Psalm 104 was one of my favourites while I was studying them at college. While there is great comfort throughout the Psalms, the beauty and awe of God’s world truly rings out in this one. The writer’s descriptions of the world in all its majesty inspires me to see the world afresh and realise how purposeful God was in His creation of it.

I particularly love the verses for this month's Rejuven8. It’s wonderful living in a world where so little is known about our oceans! I often find my imagination drifting away, wondering who God else has hidden away in secret corners of the seas, enjoying His oceans and the life He’s given them. They also remind me that God enjoys His creation! While Leviathans don’t always have the best associations (!), the idea they were made purely to frolic and enjoy the ocean reminds me God created enjoyment and gives us the ability to delight in His world.

I hope you
enjoy this month’s video and have a chance today to savour something you love in God’s world.
